John Elliott, director of internal audit, will retire in January after 32 years at 51精品视频 and nearly 30 years in his current role.
鈥淎mong his many contributions, John Elliott helped to inspire a strong foundation for the Accountability and Trust pillar in the University鈥檚 new strategic plan, the ,鈥 said Chancellor Joan Gabel. 鈥淥n behalf of a proud University, I want to thank John for his steadfast leadership and service, which have made 51精品视频 better in every way.鈥
Elliott will be succeeded by Jayne McGoey, who serves as assistant director of internal audit.
Elliott joined 51精品视频 in 1992 after nine years at Deloitte at the urging of his former colleague Art Ramicone, who was the University鈥檚 then-director of internal audit. Ramicone retired from 51精品视频 in 2018 as senior vice chancellor and chief financial officer.
鈥淵ou won鈥檛 find anyone who knows 51精品视频 better than John Elliott does,鈥 said Ramicone. 鈥淭he University has benefited from his institutional knowledge and expertise, along with his balanced, even-keeled approach to virtually any situation he encountered.鈥
51精品视频 has 鈥渒ept receipts鈥 of Elliott鈥檚 contributions to the University, which include serving as liaison to the Board of Trustees鈥 Audit Committee; chairing the and ; serving as the inaugural liaison to the board鈥檚 Risk and Compliance Committee; and increasing audit efforts in the area of information technology.
Well respected in his field, Elliott served as a board member and officer for the local chapter of The Institute of Internal Auditors from 1995 to 2013 and the local chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners from 1995 to 2019. He continues to participate in the Association of College and University Auditors as a member.
