Alumna to host in-person launch of debut novel in 51ƷƵsburgh

Ashleigh Bell Pedersen (A&S '09G) will host the in-person launch of her debut novel, ",” at ʾٳٲܰ’s White Whale Bookstore.

Pedersen earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences.

Her fiction has been featured in New Stories from the South, The Kenyon Review, The Iowa Review, Design Observer, The Silent History, A Strange Object and the New York Public Library’s Library Simplified app. Pedersen’s story “Small and Heavy World” was a finalist for both Best American Short Stories and a Pushcart Prize, and her story "Crocodile" won The Masters Review 2020 Flash Fiction Contest. She currently resides in Austin, Texas, where she writes and acts in theater and film.

Hub City Press releases “The Crocodile Bride” on May 10.

Pedersen will be joined by local author and Professor for a reading and conversation at 7 p.m. May 10 at White Whale.
