The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) student chapter at the 51精品视频 earned the organization鈥檚 award for scientific excellence. Farjana Siddiqua, president of the chapter and a graduate student researcher in 51精品视频鈥檚 Department of Mathematics, accepted the honor for the group at the Mathematical Association of America MathFest on Aug. 4.
AWM recognized the 51精品视频 chapter for, among other achievements, hosting and publicly distributing a with talks from female graduate students around the world. Since it started in 2021, the series has featured 32 speakers. The association recognized the series itself as well as its distribution as 鈥渁n important contribution to the research community.鈥
The 51精品视频 chapter also garnered the honor for its mentoring program and organized coffee meetups and other social events, where invited female scholars could share their stories and encourage and network with students.
