The study was led by , professor of at 51精品视频 in the ,聽and senior author聽on聽the paper, and聽Stanford University researcher Amir Nasrollahi, who was previously a PhD聽candidate and then post-doctoral researcher in Rizzo鈥檚 Laboratory for Nondestructive Evaluation聽and Structural Health Monitoring Studies.
The two developed a nondestructive evaluation聽method to measure聽stress聽in聽rails, with the eventual aim of calculating when the ambient temperature will be problematic.
