51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ

Writers from the student newspaper, The 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ News, won two of the three awards in the 64th Annual Gertrude Gordon Scholarship Contest sponsored by the Women's Press Club of 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵsburgh. Participants attended a press conference and then had two hours to write a feature story based on the event.

Second place in the contest went to Neena Hagen, a senior staff writer for The 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ News. Third place went to Janine Faust, who just graduated from the University after completing a year as editor in chief. Faust will intern this summer at the 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵsburgh Post-Gazette.
