The initiative has returned for a second year and is accepting submissions from听experienced and emerging artists across the University and broader 51精品视频sburgh community.
Designed to expand and celebrate diverse cultures and perspectives, the art program is a partnership among 51精品视频, the Carnegie Museums of 51精品视频sburgh, the Carnegie Library of 51精品视频sburgh and community collaborators, including 1Hood Media and the August Wilson African American Cultural Center. Artists are challenged to submit work that depicts their vision of justice and equity in 51精品视频sburgh through any of the following categories:
- Writing for the page: short story, poetry, personal essay and flash fiction
- Visual art: 2D and听3D art, painting, photography, sculpture, fiber art and graphic design
- Performance: music, dance, slam poetry, spoken word
- Video and interdisciplinary: works that cross categories, including mixed media and digital art
Anyone 17 and younger by the deadline can submit to the Youth Arts division in any category.
Participants must . Submissions will be reviewed by judges from the local art community. Winners, who will receive awards of up to $2,000, will be announced in December. Selected works will be featured in public exhibitions throughout 51精品视频sburgh in February 2025.
