As of Oct. 2, the 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ United Way Campaign is underway.

Students, faculty and staff across 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ’s campuses are asked to support the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, which collaborates with nonprofits to deliver solutions to struggling children, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, women and families in the region. The 2023-24 campaign’s goal is to raise more than $770,000 — 110% of last year’s total — before April 30, 2024.

The pledge site is now open. Visit the or follow the campaign on to learn more and keep up to date on events. Questions can be directed to 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵUnitedWay [at] pitt.edu or by calling 412-624-5800.

How to donate

Donations can be automatically deducted from payroll, or eligible employees can donate up to 40 vacation hours toward the campaign. Both options can be selected on  through the United Way app, and donors can choose to remain anonymous. To make monetary and vacation-time donations, please make two separate transactions.

Those who gave via payroll deduction last year will have their donation automatically roll over, and the deadline for payroll deduction changes and vacation time donation is Dec. 12. Any changes to current payroll pledges must be made before this deadline. New payroll deduction pledges can be made through the end of April. Though 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ’s campaign will run until the end of April 2024, organizers encourage 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ community members to make their pledges before that payroll deduction and vacation hours donation deadline.
