1974

Thomas Zorn A&S ’74 was recently elected to supervisor in East Buffalo Township in Union County, Pennsylvania. This is his second term in office after serving in the position between 2010 and 2015. Prior to this, he had retired as deputy associate director for financial disclosure from the federal Office of Government Ethics.

1989

Michael McAuliffe Miller��A&S ’89 GSPIA ’91 of Eckert Seamans’ Harrisburg office was named to the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal’s 2024 Law Power List.��The annual list recognizes the Harrisburg region’s leaders and behind-the-scenes change-makers in the legal industry. He is a member of the firm’s board of directors and��ex officio��member of the Executive Committee. He focuses his practice on management-side employment and labor law and has routinely served as a counselor to the state Senate, commonwealth agencies as well as counties, cities, colleges, municipalities, school districts, authorities, and corporations in matters before federal and state administrative agencies. He has previously been named to City & State Magazine’s PA Law Power 100 List.

1992 & 1999

Erin (Clarke) McClymonds CBA ’99 married David Moniot ENGR ’92 in Miami Beach, Florida. They have a blended family of eight children, including three recent 51��Ʒ��Ƶ grads — Corey Moniot ENGR ’16, Travis Moniot��ENGR ’17 and Shane Moniot SCI ’22 — in addition to two incoming 51��Ʒ��Ƶ students, Liam and Lachlan McClymonds. “Our families embody the spirit of PITT PROUD,” Erin says.

1995

Stephen N. Buchman A&S ’95 has been named partner at Great Place To Work, where he will lead its global consulting business. In this role, he will work with some of the��Fortune Magazine��“100 Best Companies to Work For” to deepen their ability to build extraordinary employee experiences and enhanced workplace culture for all.

1997

Jan Ivery��SOC WK ’97G has been appointed associate dean for academic affairs in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. She has held the position in the interim for the past year. As an associate professor of social work, she has held several leadership roles with the university including assistant dean for academic programs, interim director of the School of Social Work and director of the Center for Collaborative Social Work.

1999

Shannon Clifford EDUC ’99, SHRS ’02G, ’09G has been named acting dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies at Monmouth University in New Jersey. She holds three degrees from 51��Ʒ��Ƶ and has worked at multiple universities across the country—including Chatham University, Kean University and the University of St. Augustine—in faculty and administrative roles.

2000

Shannon Huygens A&S ’00, LAW ’03 has joined Littler, the employment and labor law practice, as special counsel in the 51��Ʒ��Ƶsburgh office. She was an associate at Littler from 2004 to 2013 and rejoins the firm after serving as associate general counsel at the 51��Ʒ��Ƶ for more than a decade.

2001

Jennifer P. Landau ENGR ’01, ’12G is taking over the leadership of Landau Building Co. as the construction firm transitions to its sixth generation of family ownership. She has 23 years of experience, most recently serving as executive vice president and project manager, and already plays a key role in driving growth at the company. The company has been in operation for more than a century.

2002

Briana Mezuk A&S ’02, a University of Michigan professor, spent the 2023-2024 school year as a visiting professor at the Universita' di Bologna (UNIBO) in Italy. Her research at UNIBO is focused on understanding the relationship between depression and type 2 diabetes.

Joan Ulsher SHRS ’02G has been named the 40th Texas Governor’s Volunteer of the Year for her work as a court-appointed special advocate for Child Advocates of San Antonio. She has logged more than 4,300 volunteer hours over the past five years, leveraging her own foster care experience to advocate for children and teens in conservatorship. She is also the author of “Misplaced Childhood,” a book about her experience with the child welfare system.

2003

Eugene Cross A&S ’03, ’06G recently published his second book, “Miss Me Forever,” a novel that chronicles the struggles of a young refugee from Bhutan as he makes his way in Pennsylvania. His first book, the story collection “Fires of Our Choosing,” was named the Gold Medal winner in the Short Story category by the Independent Publisher Book Awards. He’s taught creative writing at Northwestern, Penn State, The University of Chicago and other institutions. Cross is currently a screenwriter in Los Angeles and has worked with 51��Ʒ��Ƶ in Hollywood to help foster young 51��Ʒ��Ƶsburgh screenwriters.

2004

Mike Brodzinski CGS ’04 was recently honored with two prestigious commercial insurance��industry awards. He was named to Insurance Business of America Hot 100 list for 2024 and honored by Risk & Insurance magazine as a construction power broker finalist. In addition to earning a degree, he played baseball at 51��Ʒ��Ƶ, winning awards as a scholar-athlete. He has spent the past 20 years in construction risk management and insurance and is a director and senior vice president at Alliant Insurance Services in a national role.

2005

Monroeville Council unanimously appointed Alexander J. Graziani GSPIA ’05 as the Pennsylvania municipality’s new manager. He has worked in multiple municipalities across Pennsylvania over his career, earning a spot on the State Planning Board, an appointment as president of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planning Association, and a Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence.

2008

Marcedes Walker CGS ’08 represented Azerbaijan in Paris this summer after being named to the country’s first 3x3 Olympic basketball team. Walker enjoyed a decorated career at 51��Ʒ��Ƶ as one of only five players inwomen’s basketball program history to garner multiple first team all-conference accolades. She also ranks sixth on the program’s list of all-time scorers.

Michele Scott Taylor EDUC ’08G has been named the chief executive officer of College Now Greater Cleveland, a nonprofit organization that aims to increase postsecondary educational attainment.��The organization serves��nearly 33,000��individuals annually through career and postsecondary education and last year awarded more than��$7 million��in scholarships.��She will assume the CEO role in January.��

2018

Christine M. Daher A&S ’18G, ’22G joined the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) as a research staff member in the Operational Evaluation Division of IDA’s Systems and Analyses Center. She earned her master’s degree in physics from 51��Ʒ��Ƶ in 2018 and her doctoral degree in 2022. She earned her bachelor’s degree in physics from Mississippi State University in 2016. IDA is a nonprofit corporation that operates three federally funded research and development centers in the public interest.

Max Kneis CBA ’18 earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in May. He was one of just one hundred graduates across the globe to be named by Poets & Quants as a Best and Brightest MBA.
