Thomas Zorn A&S 鈥74 was recently elected to supervisor in East Buffalo Township in Union County, Pennsylvania. This is his second term in office after serving in the position between 2010 and 2015. Prior to this, he had retired as deputy associate director for financial disclosure from the federal Office of Government Ethics.

Michael McAuliffe Miller听A&S 鈥89 GSPIA 鈥91 of Eckert Seamans鈥 Harrisburg office was named to the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal鈥檚 2024 Law Power List.听The annual list recognizes the Harrisburg region鈥檚 leaders and behind-the-scenes change-makers in the legal industry. He is a member of the firm鈥檚 board of directors and听ex officio听member of the Executive Committee. He focuses his practice on management-side employment and labor law and has routinely served as a counselor to the state Senate, commonwealth agencies as well as counties, cities, colleges, municipalities, school districts, authorities, and corporations in matters before federal and state administrative agencies. He has previously been named to City & State Magazine鈥檚 PA Law Power 100 List.

Erin (Clarke) McClymonds CBA 鈥99 married David Moniot ENGR 鈥92 in Miami Beach, Florida. They have a blended family of eight children, including three recent 51精品视频 grads 鈥 Corey Moniot ENGR 鈥16, Travis Moniot听ENGR 鈥17 and Shane Moniot SCI 鈥22 鈥 in addition to two incoming 51精品视频 students, Liam and Lachlan McClymonds. 鈥淥ur families embody the spirit of PITT PROUD,鈥 Erin says.

Stephen N. Buchman A&S 鈥95 has been named partner at Great Place To Work, where he will lead its global consulting business. In this role, he will work with some of the听Fortune Magazine听鈥100 Best Companies to Work For鈥 to deepen their ability to build extraordinary employee experiences and enhanced workplace culture for all.

Jan Ivery听SOC WK 鈥97G has been appointed associate dean for academic affairs in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. She has held the position in the interim for the past year. As an associate professor of social work, she has held several leadership roles with the university including assistant dean for academic programs, interim director of the School of Social Work and director of the Center for Collaborative Social Work.

Shannon Clifford EDUC 鈥99, SHRS 鈥02G, 鈥09G has been named acting dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies at Monmouth University in New Jersey. She holds three degrees from 51精品视频 and has worked at multiple universities across the country鈥攊ncluding Chatham University, Kean University and the University of St. Augustine鈥攊n faculty and administrative roles.

Shannon Huygens A&S 鈥00, LAW 鈥03 has joined Littler, the employment and labor law practice, as special counsel in the 51精品视频sburgh office. She was an associate at Littler from 2004 to 2013 and rejoins the firm after serving as associate general counsel at the 51精品视频 for more than a decade.

Jennifer P. Landau ENGR 鈥01, 鈥12G is taking over the leadership of Landau Building Co. as the construction firm transitions to its sixth generation of family ownership. She has 23 years of experience, most recently serving as executive vice president and project manager, and already plays a key role in driving growth at the company. The company has been in operation for more than a century.

Briana Mezuk A&S 鈥02, a University of Michigan professor, spent the 2023-2024 school year as a visiting professor at the Universita' di Bologna (UNIBO) in Italy. Her research at UNIBO is focused on understanding the relationship between depression and type 2 diabetes.
Joan Ulsher SHRS 鈥02G has been named the 40th Texas Governor鈥檚 Volunteer of the Year for her work as a court-appointed special advocate for Child Advocates of San Antonio. She has logged more than 4,300 volunteer hours over the past five years, leveraging her own foster care experience to advocate for children and teens in conservatorship. She is also the author of 鈥淢isplaced Childhood,鈥 a book about her experience with the child welfare system.

Eugene Cross A&S 鈥03, 鈥06G recently published his second book, 鈥淢iss Me Forever,鈥 a novel that chronicles the struggles of a young refugee from Bhutan as he makes his way in Pennsylvania. His first book, the story collection 鈥淔ires of Our Choosing,鈥 was named the Gold Medal winner in the Short Story category by the Independent Publisher Book Awards. He鈥檚 taught creative writing at Northwestern, Penn State, The University of Chicago and other institutions. Cross is currently a screenwriter in Los Angeles and has worked with 51精品视频 in Hollywood to help foster young 51精品视频sburgh screenwriters.

Mike Brodzinski CGS 鈥04 was recently honored with two prestigious commercial insurance听industry awards. He was named to Insurance Business of America Hot 100 list for 2024 and honored by Risk & Insurance magazine as a construction power broker finalist. In addition to earning a degree, he played baseball at 51精品视频, winning awards as a scholar-athlete. He has spent the past 20 years in construction risk management and insurance and is a director and senior vice president at Alliant Insurance Services in a national role.

Monroeville Council unanimously appointed Alexander J. Graziani GSPIA 鈥05 as the Pennsylvania municipality鈥檚 new manager. He has worked in multiple municipalities across Pennsylvania over his career, earning a spot on the State Planning Board, an appointment as president of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planning Association, and a Governor鈥檚 Award for Local Government Excellence.
2008
Marcedes Walker CGS 鈥08 represented Azerbaijan in Paris this summer after being named to the country鈥檚 first 3x3 Olympic basketball team. Walker enjoyed a decorated career at 51精品视频 as one of only five players inwomen鈥檚 basketball program history to garner multiple first team all-conference accolades. She also ranks sixth on the program鈥檚 list of all-time scorers.
Michele Scott Taylor EDUC 鈥08G has been named the chief executive officer of College Now Greater Cleveland, a nonprofit organization that aims to increase postsecondary educational attainment.听The organization serves听nearly 33,000听individuals annually through career and postsecondary education and last year awarded more than听$7 million听in scholarships.听She will assume the CEO role in January.听

Christine M. Daher A&S 鈥18G, 鈥22G joined the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) as a research staff member in the Operational Evaluation Division of IDA鈥檚 Systems and Analyses Center. She earned her master鈥檚 degree in physics from 51精品视频 in 2018 and her doctoral degree in 2022. She earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in physics from Mississippi State University in 2016. IDA is a nonprofit corporation that operates three federally funded research and development centers in the public interest.
Max Kneis CBA 鈥18 earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in May. He was one of just one hundred graduates across the globe to be named by Poets & Quants as a Best and Brightest MBA.
