The full collection of audio and transcripts of 鈥淏eing Human鈥 鈥 a 51精品视频 podcast 鈥渄evoted to exploring the humanities, their intersections with other disciplines, and their value in the public world鈥 that ran from 2015-2022 鈥 is now available from Archives and Special Collections at University Library System (ULS).

Dan Kubis, who served as associate director of the 51精品视频's Humanities Center from 2015-2020, started the podcast as a way of documenting the University鈥檚 Year of the Humanities. With support from the center鈥檚 then-director Jonathan Arac and Greg Weston at WPTS Radio, which produced the show throughout its run, Kubis (A&S 鈥96, 鈥13G) interviewed more than 50 scholars and artists who visited 51精品视频 for talks or events on campus in the first five seasons.

Students have also been heavily involved in the podcast鈥檚 creation since its inception, thanks to the WPTS partnership. The show鈥檚 first undergraduate producer, Matt Moret (A&S 鈥17) is now the morning editor for Colorado Public Radio. Jacqui Sieber (CGS 鈥21) served as media fellow and producer of the sixth season of 鈥淏eing Human,鈥 which invited 51精品视频 faculty members to discuss their research and personal stories of life during the pandemic. Sieber now hosts 鈥淎ll Things Considered鈥 at WUOT in Knoxville, Tennessee. A current junior, Abby Dzwik, transcribed and edited the episodes during the 2022-23 academic year.
