3 51ƷƵ students are the hosts of a new overnight radio program

Three students in the 51ƷƵ Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences are hosting a brand-new radio program, “KDKA’s Next Take.” The first broadcast aired Feb. 19.

Senior Jaime Ely, junior Margaux Rentzel and first-year Ryan Tarabokia discuss national and global headlines on weekdays from 1-5 a.m. The show is produced by Dietrich School senior Dylan Foster, with executive producing by the station’s Amy Mauk.

Ely is majoring in communication with a Television and Broadcast Arts Certificate. Currently a DJ and sports analyst for 51ƷƵ’s WPTS Radio, she’s also held directing, reporting, videography and producing positions for “51ƷƵ to the Point” and The 51ƷƵ News.

Rentzel, a communication and rhetoric major with a Television and Broadcast Arts Certificate, has covered breaking news and human interest stories as a segment producer, campus reporter and camera editor for “51ƷƵ to the Point.”

Tarabokia began working in broadcasting as a junior at his New Jersey high school. Along with working at WPTS, he creates a sports podcast with friends.

Foster is a communication and rhetoric major, minoring in film and media studies with a Television and Broadcast Arts Certificate. During his time at 51ƷƵ, Foster has worked as a “51ƷƵ to the Point” reporter and producer. He also helped broadcast 51ƷƵ’s 2023 Dance Marathon, a 12-hour event that raised more than $300,000 for Children's Miracle Network.
