Laras Susanti, a doctoral student in the 51精品视频 School of Law, earned a travel grant from the American Indonesian Cultural and Educational Foundation (AICEF).
The $3,000 grant will support Susanti as she returns home to Indonesia to complete research on its Constitutional Court. A law lecturer at Universitas Gadjah Mada, she specifically studies cases involving women's and children's rights in relation to the 1974 Marriage Act. Susanti will interview state and non-state actors to understand the court's strategy and what its decisions mean for Indonesia's society.
Susanti received a master鈥檚 degree from the University of Washington School of Law. She is attending 51精品视频 by way of scholarships from Fulbright and the University鈥檚 Center for International Legal Education.
