Bike Share 51��Ʒ��Ƶsburgh (POGOH) is celebrating a year of record high ridership in 2023 with more than 200,000 trips — 110,000 of which came from 51��Ʒ��Ƶ riders — since Jan. 1.

This year's ridership numbers squash the previous record set in 2021 of 124,211 rides, which was also the peak of the former Healthy Ride system’s network of 115 stations. POGOH expanded by 22 stations in June of 2023, and currently operates 60 stations and 600 bikes across the City of 51��Ʒ��Ƶsburgh. More than half of its bike fleet are electric-assist bikes.

The 51��Ʒ��Ƶ community is also riding at unprecedented rates. A partnership between the University and POGOH for students, staff and faculty. The partnership launched in 2019 and has grown year over year.

51��Ʒ��Ƶ community riders have also revealed new top ridership stations in Oakland, the South Side and Shadyside. Previously, top stations were often located in Downtown, the North Shore and South Side Works.

“51��Ʒ��Ƶ’s students, faculty and staff have really embraced bike ridership within the Oakland, Southside and Shadyside areas, which is a testament to our commitment to a cleaner, healthier future,” said Jonathan Pearson, 51��Ʒ��Ƶ’s director of parking and transportation. “With our record ridership this year, we are proud to provide accessible and eco-friendly transportation options that contribute to a more sustainable urban environment.”
