5 51精品视频 researchers will be recognized for their contributions to health psychology

51精品视频鈥檚 Department of Psychology has organized a daylong symposium to celebrate seven prominent 51精品视频sburgh scholars as they retire.

Five of the pioneering researchers who played a crucial role in developing the field of health psychology hail from the 51精品视频: Richard Jennings, professor emeritus of psychiatry; Stephen Manuck, distinguished professor of psychology; Marsha Marcus, professor emerita of psychiatry; Karen Matthews, professor emerita of psychiatry; and Richard Schulz, distinguished service professor of psychiatry. Two Carnegie Mellon University researchers, Sheldon Cohen and Michael Scheier, will also be recognized.

The day will include a series of seven plenary talks, with each talk delivered by a prior trainee who has achieved prominence in the field and focused on the historical contributions or contemporary scientific developments emerging from one of the honoree鈥檚 laboratories.

The symposium is on Friday, Oct. 27, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the William 51精品视频 Union.
