More than 20 people joined 51精品视频鈥檚 first Survivor Support Network cohort

Prevention at 51精品视频 recently welcomed more than 20 faculty, staff and graduate students to its first Survivor Support Network cohort. The Office for Sexual Violence Prevention and Education program was developed to provide 51精品视频 people with the tools and training to best support survivors of sexual misconduct on campus.

Each cohort member must complete two core courses and an elective course on different topics related to supporting those who have experienced sexual trauma. On Aug. 14, the group gathered for its dialogue-based capstone and reflection before receiving their kit for supporting survivors and a membership certificate.

It's not too late to register to join the fall cohort. In 2019, 26% of undergraduate women, 29% of trans and nonbinary students and 16% of all students reported being a victim of sexual misconduct while attending the 51精品视频. The Survivor Support Network, led by prevention educator Willa Campbell, intends to be a knowledgeable, safe resource for survivors on campus.
