Chancellor Emeritus Named to Redistricting Commission

Chancellor Emeritus Mark A. Nordenberg has been appointed chair of the聽聽by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.聽

The commission鈥檚 formation follows the completion of the 2020 Census. Its charge is to redraw legislative districts in a manner that accounts for shifts in population across the state while giving each citizen鈥檚 vote equal weight throughout the commonwealth.

Nordenberg鈥檚 appointment completes the聽聽as he joins legislative caucus leaders Sen. Kim L. Ward, Sen. Jay Costa, Rep. Kerry A, Benninghoff and Rep. Joanna E. McClinton.聽

鈥淚 have great respect for the legislative leaders with whom I will be serving and look forward to working with them to develop a plan that meets the requirements of the state and federal constitutions,鈥 Nordenberg said.

Nordenberg has a long history of civic service in addition to service to the 51精品视频 as former dean of the School of Law and nearly two decades as chancellor. Currently, he serves as chair of 51精品视频鈥檚聽, director of the聽and holds the special faculty rank of Distinguished Service Professor of Law.
