On World AIDS Day, Learn About 51精品视频鈥檚 Work and Impact

One of the many efforts at the 51精品视频 is the 51精品视频 Men鈥檚 Study, which last year celebrated a milestone: .

Today, Dec. 1, the Men鈥檚 Study and the University will again participate in聽, hosting at 7 p.m. The program will discuss living with HIV and AIDS during the COVID-19 pandemic and social justice movements including聽Black Lives Matter.聽

鈥淭he gay community is living with two pandemics, HIV and COVID-19,鈥 said , principal investigator of the 51精品视频 Men鈥檚 Study and professor of at the 51精品视频 Graduate School of Public Health. 鈥淭he men who participate in the 51精品视频 Men鈥檚 Study are the heart of the program. The World AIDS Day event is a way to recognize the community that is helping in the fight against these pandemics.鈥

  • This fall, a study led by 聽of the Graduate School of Public Health found that 鈥溾濃攍arge clones of HIV-infected cells that produce infectious virus particles鈥攁re to blame for the virus still showing up in patients with HIV who take medication.
