4 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ students were named 2023 Critical Language scholars

Four 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ students have been named 2023 , an immersive summer opportunity for American college students to make rapid language gains and essential intercultural fluency. Each will spend 8-10 weeks abroad.

51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ’s winners this year are:

  • Jesse Biltz, Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, who will study Indonesian in Indonesia.
  • Dannial Cardillo, a senior majoring in Chinese in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, is going to Turkey to study Turkish. During his time at 51¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ, Cardillo has also won the and Gilman scholarships.
  • Jordyn Kamasa, GSPIA, is going to the Middle East to study Arabic.
  • Hiba Siddiqui, a junior in the David C. Frederick Honors College and Dietrich School majoring in psychology, will study Urdu in India.
